Kim Jaeun is a man eternally plagued by misfortune. Even on his birthday, he is suffering his usual bad luck when, as if enchanted, he follows a man named Yeongyeong who claims a CEO is looking for him.

He is led to a room where a young, handsome man—who looks nothing like a CEO sits on the bed. The man, Sa Gihwan, calls Jaeun his 'Yeouiju' (Dragon Pearl), and proceeds to choke him with an intangible force.

Facing the terror of death, Jaeun instinctively begins to 'reject' Gihwan. Gihwan's rough hand is violently thrown back by the power of the Dragon Pearl, and Gihwan, consumed by rage and humiliation, attempts to harm Jaeun, only to be stopped by Yeongyeong.

A bizarre and possessive Imugi (이무기, a proto-dragon) named Sa Gihwan who treats the Dragon Pearl, Kim Jaeun, as his property; Kim Jaeun, who is determined to independently carve out a destiny that was pre-determined since birth; and Yeongyeong, caught between them. This is their growth romance.
