In a world ravaged by deadly monsters and climate collapse, only one place still holds the structure of a nation: the Forbidden City. Guarding its borders is the notorious esper unit known as the White Corps, elite psychics trained to exterminate monsters and absorb what's left of the outside world.

Shin Hwajin, an underpowered esper scorned for his background and weak abilities, lives in the shadows of this brutal system. But when he learns his twin sister—a Guide and his only family—was abused and killed by their own teammates, he snaps. In a fit of rage, he annihilates his squad… then throws himself off a cliff.

But instead of death, he wakes up in a hidden village called "The Library," far from the city's grip. His memories shattered from the fall, he’s taken in by Tan, the stoic leader of the village, who despises the city’s dialect and anyone from it—especially a former White Corps member.

Reluctantly, Tan gives him a new name: Hima. Despite his hatred, Tan finds himself drawn to Hima’s innocent confusion and vulnerability. As the two grow closer—emotionally and physically—Hima slowly regains his powers… and his past.
