A strange kind of debt repayment has begun.

Goo Tae-geom, an accounts manager at the illegal loan company Takatsu, and Cha Hee-on, the only female employee in accounting — nothing more than boss and subordinate. Until something between them starts to change.

“My grandmother’s hospital bills are three months overdue.”
“Try somewhere else. Even if you’re starving to death today, I’m not lending you money.”

He rejected her coldly, but her unexpectedly vulnerable expression kept haunting him.
Then one day, when Hee-on finds herself in danger, Tae-geom steps in to save her — and they end up drinking together.
When Tae-geom passes out drunk, she steals a kiss from him.

“…You little—damn it.”
“Why are you swearing? Was it that bad?”

Later, Tae-geom realizes that kiss was just a ploy — her way of finding out the combination to the office safe.
Even so, he can’t bring himself to let the desperate Hee-on go.

“Write this down. Don’t miss a single word.”

A pathetic IOU scrawled on a napkin.
₩20,000 a day. Must be repaid in cash.

“Anyone who owes me money—I’ll chase them to the ends of hell.”

Each weary day ended with that same twenty-thousand-won exchange.
He no longer knew whether he was repaying a debt or creating a new one.
And little by little, those days began to take root in both of their lives.
