Q: What is a Yaoi Heaven Rec List?

A1: Bato has its own Discord Server. It's a great place! If you're 18+, there's even a fantastic Yaoi-Heaven channel where extremely dedicated BL readers share photos, discuss plots, recommend titles to each other, get excited for new releases, licensing, translation, and overall just hangout with likeminded people with similar hobbies.

A2: As part of Yaoi-Heaven, all these people who *love* chatting, also *love making lists*. We also frankly don't really like being interrupted mid-chaos to think of "what's a story like Dawn of the Dragon/How to Snag an Alpha/Dangerous Convenience Store?" for the 30th time. So we have massive, painstakingly compiled, organized, and regularly updated lists of recommendations, separated by topic. New requests come in often and therefore new lists are made often! Feel welcome to drop by and hang out with us!

A3: And What It Is Not is a replacement for tags! Although some of these lists may feel like we just set some filters and made a list for you, that really isn't what's happening. Someone, somewhere, at some point in the server has read each and every title in every one of these lists and felt like it belongs there. These are recommendations, not a search filter. And seriously, check the tags and reviews before reading. There's a lot of topics people don't like that we include.

Q: How Did You Choose Each Entry?

A1: With so many of these series having had multiple translations in the past, including as dropped projects, I attempted to give preference to:
    1. Official 18/19+ Releases, Uncensored
    2. Official 18/19+ Releases, Censored
    3. Well Established Scan Groups (vs solo projects) with regular upload schedules
    4. In cases of much older or more difficult to find series, I focused instead on completeness of the upload.
Absolutely no preference is given to any specific scan group or uploader on an individual basis outside of the above criteria.

Q: How are the masterlists populated?

A: Entirely at random. A title or two from each sublist is added so the list is fluffed out enough to be public, but the meat is in the more specific lists.

Q: I have ideas/requests. What now?

A: Join the Bato server, hang out with us, and ask. We love doing this stuff. (You do gotta be 18+ to hangout in the Yaoi chat)
